Poon McKenzie Architects to Celebrate 20 Years of Design

August 30, 2004 --- CALGARY, VANCOUVER. Poon McKenzie Architects will celebrate its 20 year corporate history with an event to take place in the fall of 2004.

The firm was founded in 1984 by Ron Poon, B.ES, M.ARCH, MAIBC, MAAA in a small, downtown Calgary office. In 1991, Bruce McKenzie B.ES, M.ARCH, MAIBC, MAAA joined as Partner, and the firm has since steadily grown with the addition of new Partners Don Dessario Diploma Building Technologies and Stephen Suen B.ARCH and now includes a total staff base of over 50 professionals.

The Firm’s successful growth is attributed to a well-honed methodology focused on delivering strategic design solutions for market-driven architectural projects, including multi-family housing, resort/hotel and office/commercial buildings throughout Alberta and British Columbia.

"Our vision has always been to become an architectural ‘firm-of-choice’ by building strong market positions for our Clients through well reasoned, relevant and high impact creative design solutions," explains Ron Poon.

"Commitment to our client’s success and personal and professional accountability have been critical in forming the long-term relationships we now enjoy with our clientele," adds Bruce McKenzie. "Our best achievement as a Firm is having grown alongside our Clients over a period of decades."

The firm has recently launched a Vancouver-based office and added Glenn Burwell, B.ES, M.ARCH, MAIBC as the on-site Partner.

Twentieth Anniversary celebrations will take place in The Brownstones, the firm’s newly designed Calgary Offices. Event details to be announced in early September.
